Gerard White, Author of Say No to the Quo
Gerard White was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended the University of Louisville (1991) where he received his B. A. in English with concentrations in both literary analysis and writing.
Although interested in teaching, after graduation Gerard decided to enter the corporate world as a public relations and marketing specialist. Thirteen years later, however, he left the business world to pursue his lifelong desire to become a teacher. He received his M. A. in Teaching from Bellarmine University (2003) and accepted a position at St. Margaret Mary Elementary School.
Six years later, Gerard accepted a faculty position at Mercy Academy, where he also served as English Department Chair. While he enjoyed his time at Mercy, Gerard missed teaching at the middle school level, which led him to accept his current position at St. Gabriel Elementary School where he teaches 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts.
Gerard lives in Jeffersontown, Kentucky with his wife of twenty-five years, Leslie, and their two children.
In his spare time, Gerard enjoys reading, writing, speaking, and yoga. He is currently pursuing his M. S. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Kansas.
